Alyssa’s Boudoir Empowerment Session / McKinney, TX / Boudoir by Erin
I have always loved boudoir photography. So much so I even thought about getting in to it myself, but never had the guts to ask friends to model, so I tried to do it myself. I learned quickly that it's an art! Since then I wanted to do a professional shoot. After finding Boudoir by Erin I knew I had to find a way to book a session with her! But life did not make it easy at all. Rather it be money wise, family emergencies, or just life being too busy making it almost impossible. Being able to finally book a session after a few years of following Erins work, I was so excited! Leading up to my session I was thinking of anything I could to cancel. I was so beyond nervous. I didn't feel sexy enough, or "thin" enough to be in front of a camera. But once I walked though that front door the morning of my session I knew I chose the right photographer for me! Erin is very welcoming! I've never felt so comfortable in front of a stranger before my session. During my session she would show me the camera screen and I couldn't believe that was me on the screen at all! She sees all the sexiness in you that you never knew you even had! It made me never wanna leave! When she pulled my pictures up on the screen after my session, I was blown away! I kept saying "THATS ME?!". That definitely was me, just not a side of me I knew I had. I walked out of my session a whole new woman! I am so grateful I allowed myself to overcome my fears and love myself enough to do this! I can't wait to do it again! I definitely will be booking another session as soon as I can!
How did you first hear about Boudoir by Erin?
I believe I came across Erins Boudoir page on Instagram! I've been a fan of her work for a few years!
Why did you decide to book a boudoir session? What made you go for it?
I've been wanting to do a session for a while! Life kept getting in the way every time I thought I was ready. I also was waiting to "look perfect" before I booked a session. I finally decided to go for it when I was at my lowest point. I needed to learn to love myself as I am and not as I wish to be.
What did you think boudoir was before hearing of Boudoir by Erin?
Women are gorgeous and powerful; Boudoir photography puts women in charge of just how brave and powerful they want to be.
Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?
I overcame one of my biggest fear of not feeling sexy enough to even think about doing a boudoir session. Now that I did, no one can tell me otherwise. The amount of times I flipped my hair around after my session, no one could stop me from feeling like a queen that day.
How did you feel leading up to the morning of your session?
I was extremely nervous the morning of my session. I almost chickened out to be honest. But the moment I meet Erin, Jaimee, and Amy, I felt sooo comfortable.
What was your first impression when you arrived at the studio?
My first impression was how welcoming it felt just stepping through the door. Everything was set up and ready for the session.
What did you think of your hair & makeup?
I sent sooo many selfies after my session to all my friends and my husband, of course. I had to show everyone before I even got my pictures back! I absolutely LOVED my makeup and hair by Jaimee! I loved her vibes too! So easy to talk to while she was working on my hair and makeup. I always forget how much hair I have and I definitely should of warned her, definitely sorry about that! BUT she killed it! If i could i would hire her to do my makeup for every event I need in the future!
Did you have any thoughts during your session?
During my session I felt so comfortable I forgot I was half naked/naked in front of strangers! Erin made me wish I could keep taking pictures all day!
How did you feel leaving the studio after your session and viewing your images?
I felt like a queen! I've never imagined myself as "sexy". After viewing my pictures it was hard to believe that was even me on the screen!
What products did you purchase?
I bought the Bombshell digital collection. I definitely hope to do more sessions in the future and be able to purchase an album!
Did anything surprise you?
I was definitely surprised at how easy and how comfortable I was during my session!
What would your advice be to other women who haven’t booked a boudoir session?
My advice would be to JUST DO IT! Don't hold back at all. If you are on the fence, go for it 100%! I'm already trying to convince all my friends to do it. Not even for their partners but for themselves. My session was for me, myself, and I. My husband seeing my pictures is just an added bonus.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty/sexuality/sensuality/body confidence as a result of this session?
I have always had very low self confidence. I would consistently ask my husband if I look good in anything I wear. Here recently I've been trying to be more accepting of my body and beauty. After my session there is no doubt that I know I am beautiful. I am sexy. I am brave! I AM EMPOWERED!
Why would you suggest someone else book a session with Boudoir by Erin?
If anyone has any doubt in themselves about they way they look or feel, one session with Erin will change that instantly!!
What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
Be brave, be strong, be everything you've always wanted to be and just do it. Great things come out of being a little nervous sometimes!
