How did you first hear about Boudoir by Erin?
I have been wanting to do a boudoir shoot for a while, but with the business of life, I hadn't made time to schedule an appointment for it. After some research, I found some studios around town that looked nice, but didn't seem very welcoming for a woman with curves or wanted to charge an extreme amount for their sessions. I found Boudoir Photography by Erin, read the amazing reviews (some even on the blog), and wanted to learn more about this studio. Everyone was so pleased with their experience that I knew that this would be the best place to visit!
Why did you decide to book a boudoir session? What made you go for it?
While I wanted to get a little Christmas present for my husband, I really wanted to do this session for me. I have lost weight and wanted to feel more positive about my body as well as how I look. After I called Erin, I felt so comfortable with this new adventure that I said what the heck and went for it! I am so glad that I said yes to this opportunity!
What did you think boudoir was before hearing of Boudoir by Erin?
I have had some friends and friends of friends that have done boudoir in the past and had always wanted to be able to do it as well. Originally, I thought boudoir was only about taking very scandalous pictures and I didn't know if that was something that I was super comfortable with. While, yes, Erin takes some sexy pictures, I was still very much covered in all of my pictures and that made me feel much more comfortable with the whole process.
Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?
This was my first boudoir session, so yes, I was nervous all the way up to actually starting the session. I have been insecure about my body and didn't know how I would feel about seeing myself in this new way. But, once Erin start shooting and showing me the results, I felt much more comfortable and was so excited for the rest of the session!
How did you feel leading up to the morning of your session?
Nervous and excited. I didn't know what to expect, but I was excited for a new adventure!
What was your first impression when you arrived at the studio?
So cute! Being in a house made the session feel much more cozy and the decor was so beautiful! I felt right at home!
What did you think of your hair & makeup?
Jamie is an incredibly talented hair and makeup artist! She is very detailed oriented (which is MUCH appreciated) and was super friendly during the entire session. She is very gifted and I will be looking forward to having her do my hair and makeup at a future session!
Did you have any thoughts during your session?
If you want someone to hype you up, Erin is definitely your person! During my session, she was constantly cheering me on and was incredibly supportive! This energy made me get more into the process of the session and made me want to keep going. I loved it!
How did you feel leaving the studio after your session and viewing your images?
Honestly, as soon as I stepped out of the house, I felt like a badass. It was a very empowering session and I saw that, no matter the curves, I was beautiful and that is not something that I have seen myself as in a very long time. Even the day after the session, I feel like I can conquer the world!
What products did you purchase?
I purchased, I believe, the bombshell book.
Did anything surprise you?
To be very transparent, the whole session surprised me in such a positive way. I had no idea what I what to expect (I mean, outside of the wonderful, detailed emails that Erin had sent to me prior to the session) and was so very happy at the end of the session.
What would your advice be to other women who haven’t booked a boudoir session?
DO IT! Yes, I know it looks intimidating and you may think negative thoughts about how you look, but I promise you that all of those thoughts will melt away after you start working with Erin. Jamine and Erin have magical powers that make you feel so comfortable and truly showcase the beauty you have on the outside and how it complements the beauty you have within. You will thank yourself for doing the session after it is over.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty/sexuality/sensuality/body confidence as a result of this session?
I have always been very nervous about being a curvy woman, but after this session, I feel more accepting of those curves and want to wear clothes that show them off more. I have worked hard for this body and feel proud to show it off.
Why would you suggest someone else book a session with Boudoir by Erin?
As the company showcases, it is truly an empowering session. This session is a great way to build back confidence about how you look on the outside and, in turn, the inside will continue to shine - it is a wonderful experience.
What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
Friend, I have been in your shoes too. Yes, the initial piece of it may be nervous, but Erin and Jamie are a dynamic duo that showcase your beauty and showcase your beauty exquisitely. I learned that boudoir isn't just about posing in the nude, but showcasing how wonderful your body is fully clothed, with your favorite sports jersey, or whatever clothing makes you comfortable.
