How did you first hear about Boudoir by Erin?

Through a coworker whose daughter has had sessions with Erin and has worked with her! I joined the Facebook group and was so moved by the sense of support for all women. 

Why did you decide to book a boudoir session?  What made you go for it?

When the model call was shared on the Facebook page I immediately wanted to apply. I was hesitant at first and felt like I wasn’t worthy of having beautiful pictures taken of me. But as soon as I applied I was so hopeful, and I was beyond thrilled when I found out I was selected! I think the deciding factor to apply was to prove to myself that I was confident and finally in a good headspace about my body. I have grown so much over the last 8 years or so and I now see so much beauty and strength in myself. 

What did you think boudoir was before hearing of Boudoir by Erin?

I kind of imagined it being exclusively for model-like women. Or that all boudoir was geared towards doing the photos for a man. That’s great and all, but I’m so glad that Erin is all about empowerment for women! I did my session for ME! The benefit of surprising my boyfriend with the photos is just an added bonus. 

Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?

I have survived disordered eating and negative body image. I was so scared that the photos would make me feel self conscious. But they did the opposite— I feel so sexy and confident after seeing them. I already want to book a full session to try new things. 

How did you feel leading up to the morning of your session?

I was a bit nervous. Honestly part of what I was nervous about was the makeup and hair because I never wear makeup. But I chose “glam” and I loved the result. It was so much fun playing dress up. and she didn’t make me feel bad about knowing so little about makeup and hair. 

What was your first impression when you arrived at the studio?

I thought it was so cool that the studio is an actual house! It’s fun seeing the different couches and props throughout

What did you think of your hair & makeup?

Amazing. I never thought I could look so beautiful! I gave her very little direction and all the creative freedom and she somehow created a look that was perfect for me. 

Did you have any thoughts during your session?

I was surprised by how excited I was for each new pose. I wanted to challenge myself so I loved when she was like “you’re gonna hate me but hold your body here, it’ll be like a workout”. I loved the more challenging poses. I was also so excited going into the nude/sheet photos. It was such a unique experience but they make you feel so comfortable. They ended up being my favorite photos. 

How did you feel leaving the studio after your session and viewing your images?

I was so excited and just wanted to stare at them. The only bad part was worrying that I made the right decisions about which photos to keep!

What products did you purchase?

I got 5 digital photos with the model call. I’m not in a financial situation to afford a ton extra— but I did purchase the prep show as a fun gift for my partner. I know he’s going to be thrilled when he sees!

Did anything surprise you?

How many lingerie options there were! I was worried there wouldn’t be options to make my small bum look good but it was easy to find incredible pieces!

What would your advice be to other women who haven’t booked a boudoir session?

As soon as you are financially ready— book your session! Don’t wait for your wedding, anniversary, etc. Book the session for YOU. Save images or something like the peep show for special occasions if you must haha

Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty/sexuality/sensuality/body confidence as a result of this session?

I do think I felt more confident in my sexuality and confidence after this session. I want to buy more lingerie and be more adventurous. I am emotional about the way I have grown in my body image and this was a perfect way to solidify that feeling after years of hard work. 

Why would you suggest someone else book a session with Boudoir by Erin?

I can’t imagine a more comfortable and supportive setting for something that is so fear inducing for most people. 

What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?

Every staff member I worked with did nothing but make me feel more confident. They go at your pace and do not pressure you to do anything you don’t want to do. You can also bring your own lingerie if you prefer.
